SHUTTERS

Interior shutters are a timeless window treatment that combines beautiful architectural style with exceptional control over natural light, privacy, and the overall atmosphere of a room. Unlike traditional blinds or fabric shades, shutters become a more permanent design feature of the window, with adjustable louvers that can be tilted to let in plenty of daylight, soften harsh sunlight, increase privacy, or create a more closed and comfortable environment. Their clean lines and substantial appearance can instantly make a window feel more finished and intentional, making shutters an excellent choice for living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, offices, and other spaces throughout the home. Whether your style is traditional, modern, farmhouse, coastal, or somewhere in between, shutters offer a classic look that can complement the home for years rather than following a short-lived design trend.

Shutters can also be highly customized to suit the individual window and the look you want to achieve. Graber offers both natural wood and composite shutters, giving homeowners the ability to choose a material based on appearance, window size, location, and everyday needs. Wood shutters provide the natural warmth and character of real hardwood and are lighter than composite shutters, which can make them particularly well suited for larger windows. They also offer an extensive range of customization possibilities, including numerous frame styles and Graber's Custom Color program. Composite shutters provide a similarly polished appearance with added durability and moisture resistance. Because the composite material is designed to resist warping, cracking, and peeling, it can be an especially practical option for kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas where humidity may be a concern.

Color and finish options make it possible to take shutters in several different design directions. Bright and warm whites, creams, and other neutral painted finishes can create a fresh, airy appearance and blend beautifully with existing trim, while natural-looking stains and richer finishes can introduce warmth and contrast. Wood shutters can even be coordinated with wood blinds, while composite shutter colors can be paired with coordinating composite blinds, helping create a consistent look when several different types of window treatments are being used throughout the same home.

Shutters can be customized beyond their color and material as well. Different frame styles, panel arrangements, and configurations allow them to accommodate a variety of windows and design preferences. Divider rails can separate the shutter into upper and lower sections so the louvers in each section can be adjusted independently. This gives you even greater control over privacy and sunlight—for example, keeping the lower portion more private while opening the upper louvers to allow natural light into the room. Graber also offers split-tilt configurations that provide independent control without the visual appearance of a stationary divider rail.

Whether you're looking for the natural character of hardwood, the durability of composite materials, a crisp white finish, or a richer custom look, Ladder & Loom can help you create shutters specifically suited to your windows and your home. From selecting the material, color, frame, and configuration to precise measuring and professional installation, the goal is a finished window treatment that feels like it was always meant to be part of the room.
